Description
Teletek SPIKA-RCM Emergency Wall Microphone Cabinet
Overview
The SPIKA-RCM is an emergency wall-mounted microphone cabinet designed for critical voice communication within Voice Evacuation (EVAC) systems used in commercial, institutional, scientific, and historical environments. It provides high-priority manual voice control, typically intended for use by emergency personnel such as the fire brigade during incident response.
As part of the SPIKA system, the RCM ensures that authorised users can override automated messages and issue live instructions directly to affected zones when required.
Emergency Communication Function
The unit features a built-in handheld Push-To-Talk (PTT) microphone, enabling instant voice communication across the evacuation system. Its high-priority status ensures that live announcements from this station override other microphone stations, allowing emergency services to deliver clear and immediate instructions during critical situations.
Each SPIKA panel supports one SPIKA-RCM unit, connected via the system’s Emergency BUS, ensuring dedicated and reliable communication during emergencies.
Design & Security
The SPIKA-RCM is housed in a robust red wall-mounted cabinet designed for quick identification in emergency conditions. A key lock mechanism provides secure access control, preventing unauthorised use while ensuring availability to trained personnel when required.
A built-in system status LED provides clear visual feedback on operational readiness and system condition, supporting fast verification during emergency response.
Power & Integration
The unit is powered directly from the control panel, simplifying installation and ensuring dependable operation within the overall EVAC system architecture. Its wired communication design guarantees stable, interference-free performance in life safety applications.
Compliance & Application
The SPIKA-RCM is EN 54-16 certified, confirming compliance with European standards for voice alarm and emergency communication systems. It is intended for high-reliability environments where direct manual intervention is required as part of fire safety strategy.
