Overview

Observer Software is a dedicated monitoring and management platform developed for local and remote supervision of addressable fire alarm systems from Teletek Electronics. It supports the Iris 4/8, Iris, Iris Pro, and Simpo fire alarm panel ranges, providing a centralised interface for real-time system control, event monitoring, and video verification.

Designed for security and fire safety professionals, Observer enhances situational awareness by combining system status monitoring with graphical site layouts and optional remote access capabilities.

System Monitoring & Control

The software enables full monitoring of single or networked fire alarm panels, displaying detailed system status including normal operation, fire alarms, faults, and trouble conditions. It also provides detailed device-level information such as detector identity, zone allocation, and panel status.

Operators can control key panel functions directly from the interface, including silencing buzzers, silencing sounders, performing system resets, initiating evacuation, and enabling or disabling devices or zones when required.

Event Management & Reporting

Observer records all system events and allows them to be filtered, reviewed, printed, and backed up for reporting and compliance purposes. Fault conditions such as low battery, AC loss, and device trouble are clearly displayed for rapid diagnostics and maintenance response.

This ensures complete traceability of system activity, supporting both operational management and regulatory requirements.

Mapping & Visualisation

The software supports import of architectural plans and images (JPG, BMP, PNG, TIF, GIF), enabling graphical representation of monitored sites. Users can assign detectors and zones to specific building layouts for faster localisation of alarm events.

In alarm or fault conditions, the system can automatically switch between maps, guiding operators to the relevant area quickly and efficiently.

Video Verification

Observer includes fast video verification capabilities, allowing operators to confirm alarm conditions through connected surveillance systems. This enhances response accuracy by providing visual confirmation during emergency events.

User Access Control

The platform supports multi-level user permissions, including view-only access, technician-level control, and full administrator rights. This ensures secure system operation while limiting access based on user role and responsibility.
