Description
The Kentec Sigma XT ancillaries Hold‑Off Unit is a dedicated interface module intended for use with the Kentec Sigma XT range of extinguishant control systems. Its principal function is to provide remote hold-off functionality during a programmed extinguishing sequence. Allowing authorized personnel to prevent or delay the automatic release of suppression agent based on external conditions or safety considerations.
Electrically, the hold-off unit presents a monitored input circuit back to the Sigma XT panel. It is designed to be wired into the panel’s Hold-Off loop and supports supervised voltage monitoring. Under normal quiescent conditions, the circuit remains closed and presents a defined resistance to the panel supervision. An open circuit or fault condition is detected by the panel’s monitoring logic. Which then initiates programmed response actions, such as halting the discharge countdown. This configuration ensures integrity of supervision and immediate detection of wiring faults or tampering.
The unit is housed in a robust mild steel enclosure with a textured finish and provision for surface mounting. It features a high-visibility pushbutton actuator mounted on the enclosure face. When the unit is energized and the hold-off function is active, pressing the button opens the supervisory circuit to the panel, effectively commanding suppression hold-off. The pushbutton employs a mechanical latch requiring deliberate reset action, preventing accidental release of the hold-off state once activated.
Internally, the device incorporates a set of volt-free contacts rated to handle typical control voltages utilized by extinguishing system logic circuits. Terminal blocks within the unit facilitate straightforward connection of field cabling and loop supervision conductors.
