Description

The ISM-95 2000/900 Series Isolator Module is a stand-alone loop isolator that may be used for protection of both 2000 and 900 series addressable loops. It is supplied in a CPD approved enclosure for easy installation.

The ISM-95 senses and isolates overload and short circuit faults on the addressable device loop. A yellow LED on the PCB indicates an isolation condition. Any device connected to the auxiliary device terminals continue to operate in the event of a single short circuit fault on either side.

Functionality And Use

The function of the ISM-95 is to protect the integrity of the addressable loop in case of an overload or short-circuit on part of the loop. In such event the entire data circuit is not lost but only the effected part of the loop is isolated.

For full protection it is recommended that every addressable device in the loop be fitted with a ISM-95 isolator. For regulatory purposes it is specified that not more than a single detection zone is affected by a single fault on the loop, containing no more than 32 devices.
