Ideco Steri-C is a germicidal ultraviolet radiant energy that inactivate bacteria, mould spores, fungi or viruses (collectively referred to as pathogens). Wavelengths in the photobiological ultraviolet spectral band known as the “UV-C,” from 200 to 280 nanometres (nm), have been certified to be the most effective for disinfection. When viruses are exposed to UVC, its effects on the molecular structures destroys the structural bonds in the DNA , with a resultant rendering of the virus harmless and stopping its spread.

The Steri-C can be mounted above most optical fingerprint sensors, provided the correct installation instructions are followed. In some cases you may require a simple mounting bracket to be fixed against the wall or on top of the sensor.
Once the Steri-C is switched on, it will self-calibrate as part of its boot sequence to ensure the optimum workings of the proximity sensor. To protect the user, the proximity sensor will switch off the UV-C when a finger approaches the fingerprint sensor.
