The AXIS M4228-LVE is a small but powerful 4K surveillance camera. It’s ideal for sites that need sharp video, sound detection, and strong cybersecurity.

Crisp 4K Video – Day or Night

This camera captures sharp, detailed 8 MP (4K) images. The varifocal lens offers a 100° to 38° field of view. It also supports remote zoom and focus, so you don’t need to adjust it by hand. Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR give excellent visibility in low light or tricky lighting. OptimizedIR enables clear footage even in total darkness. Thanks to Axis Zipstream and support for H.264 and H.265, it reduces bandwidth and storage without affecting image quality.

AI Video + Sound Detection

With a built-in deep learning processing unit (DLPU), the camera can analyze footage directly on the device. It comes preloaded with AXIS Object Analytics, which can detect, classify, count, and track people and vehicles. An acoustic sensor powers AXIS Audio Analytics, which can detect specific sounds—like shouting or breaking glass—and sudden changes in noise levels. This makes your surveillance system more responsive and accurate.

Designed for Cybersecurity

The AXIS M4228-LVE includes Axis Edge Vault, a hardware-based platform that protects your camera from tampering. It also includes FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified secure key storage, for added protection of sensitive data.

Small and Tough

This camera is compact and discreet, ideal for blending into indoor or outdoor settings. A smoked dome is available to hide the lens direction. It’s IK10- and IP66-rated, weather- and vandal-resistant, and includes a weathershield. It works in -30°C to 50°C (-22°F to 122°F) temperatures.
