360° area protection, day and night
The AXIS D2124-VE Radar delivers reliable perimeter protection with 360° coverage and AI-powered object classification. It detects objects at distances of up to 200 m and recognises people across an area of up to 40,000 m².
Its box-shaped detection and recognition zones simplify surveillance planning and help security teams cover large areas efficiently. Designed for installation on sturdy poles, rooftops and mobile surveillance trailers, the radar provides dependable detection in demanding outdoor environments.
Radar image stabilisation improves detection accuracy when vibrations affect the device, making it suitable for exposed and windy locations. Multiple line-crossing scenarios also help reduce false alarms in complex environments. Four integrated dynamic LED strips provide visible deterrence when needed.
Accurate detection with visual verification
The AXIS D2124-VE works with the AXIS Q6225-LE PTZ Camera to deliver cost-effective surveillance across large areas. Using AXIS Radar Autotracking for PTZ, the radar can direct the camera towards detected objects for visual verification and automatic tracking.
An optional double-knock feature adds another layer of verification by requiring visual confirmation of a radar alarm before triggering an event. This helps reduce false alarms and allows security teams to focus on genuine incidents.
Operators can access enriched data from both the radar and the PTZ camera to support informed security decisions and improve situational awareness.
Efficient power consumption
Despite its extensive coverage, the AXIS D2124-VE averages just 14.8 W across its 40,000 m² human recognition zone. This low power consumption makes it suitable for off-grid applications and mobile surveillance trailers.
As an IP-based device, it can trigger automated actions on other equipment, such as activating infrared illumination only when required. PoE output also helps simplify installation by powering an additional compatible device without a separate cable run.
Flexible integration for modern security systems
The AXIS D2124-VE integrates with compatible Axis surveillance solutions and can connect to existing AXIS Q6225-LE installations using an Axis 120 W High PoE midspan.
