Designed to perfectly complement Axis access control solutions, the AXIS A4131-E supports multiple 13.56 MHz RFID technologies, including Axis credentials, MIFARE Classic®, MIFARE Plus®, and MIFARE DESFire® EV1–EV3. The responsive touch keypad offers unlimited usage without the wear and tear associated with mechanical buttons. When integrated with AXIS Camera Station Secure Entry, users benefit from advanced access control features. Such as anti-passback, two-person rule, and centralized system management.

To improve accessibility, an optional braille label with embossed lettering is available for visually impaired users.

Built for Indoor and Outdoor Environments

With an IP65 weatherproof rating and IK07 impact resistance, the AXIS A4131-E is built to withstand challenging indoor and outdoor environments. Installation is simple, whether mounted directly on a wall or fitted to a standard single-gang box. The reader can also be remotely managed through Axis network door controllers. Enabling easy configuration, firmware updates, and security enhancements from anywhere within the system.

Advanced Cybersecurity Protection

The reader supports Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) for secure bidirectional communication and utilizes Secure Channel Protocol (SCP) to protect credentials and encryption keys. An EAL6+ Certified Secure Element provides an additional layer of protection against cyber threats.

Tamper detection alerts administrators to unauthorized interference, while Transparent Mode stores encryption keys on the door controller rather than the reader itself. This significantly reduces the risk of key compromise if the device is tampered with. OSDP Secure Profile verification also ensures strong interoperability with third-party access control systems.
